Research

The Fund leads efforts to generate evidence that informs better drug policy. We collect and analyze data on the real-life impacts of criminalization, treatment systems, and harm reduction strategies in Maryland. Through original research and partnerships with academic institutions, we aim to elevate the voices of people directly impacted by drug policy and ensure their experiences guide reform.

Educate

Public understanding shapes public policy. The Fund works to counter stigma and misinformation by sharing accurate, accessible information about drug use, harm reduction, and the consequences of punitive approaches. Through community presentations, digital campaigns, and educational materials, we help shift the narrative and build a more informed and compassionate public.

Organize

We support grassroots organizing efforts by equipping communities with the knowledge and tools needed to participate meaningfully in the policy process. We develop resources, host training sessions, and create educational spaces that empower people to engage.

Advocate

While the Fund the does not engage in lobbying, our work supports the advocacy efforts of our sister organization—the Maryland Alliance for Sensible Drug Policy—by providing nonpartisan research, public education, and policy analysis.
